Maxitrol gas regulators and controls for technicians

Motair carries the Maxitrol line for gas technicians, heating contractors and maintenance teams: natural gas pressure regulators, Selectra modulating valves and modulator-regulators, amplifiers, temperature sensors and selectors, and vent limiters. Parts are stocked locally for counter pickup at our Laval, Saint-Laurent and Longueuil branches.

What we carry

  • Gas pressure regulators: RV series (RV12LT, RV20L, RV47L, RV48L, RV52, RV53, RV61) and R600S, from 1/8" to 1-1/4" NPT, for natural gas or propane appliances and lines depending on the model.
  • Selectra modulating valves: M511, M520, M611 and M620, plus MR212 and MR510 modulator-regulators that modulate and regulate pressure in one body.
  • Selectra amplifiers: Series 14, 20, 44 and 94, and the SC11-B signal conditioner.
  • Temperature sensors and selectors: TS discharge air sensors, TD remote selectors and the MT1 mixing tube.
  • Vent limiters 12A04 and 12A06 for compatible regulators.

Matching a replacement regulator

Before you swap a regulator, note the maximum inlet pressure (for example 1/2 psi or 5 psi), the outlet pressure range in inches of water column (for example 3–6" w.c.), the NPT size, the gas type and the appliance's required flow. The full Maxitrol model number on the label (e.g. RV48L-36) gives the series and the spring range.

Selectra flame modulation for make-up air and heating

Maxitrol's Selectra system modulates gas flow to hold a temperature: a sensor or selector sends the signal to the amplifier, which drives the modulating valve. You'll find it on direct-fired make-up air units, atmospheric and infrared burners and many drying processes. For a repair, bring the amplifier series and the valve model and we'll help you find the matching part.

FAQ

Do you sell to homeowners?

No. Motair sells to trade professionals with a commercial account. Gas components must be installed by a qualified gas technician in line with CSA B149.1, the Natural Gas and Propane Installation Code.

Do these regulators work on propane?

Many models are certified for natural gas and propane, but not all, and the spring differs. Check the product page or ask at the counter before installing.

What does a vent limiter do?

It screws into the regulator vent and limits gas escape if the diaphragm ruptures. According to Maxitrol, it removes the need to pipe the vent outdoors on compatible regulators (RV48, RV52, RV53, RV61, R400S, R500S and R600S). Follow code and the installation instructions.

My Selectra amplifier failed. Do I need to replace the whole system?

Often not. Replacement amplifiers exist for several series. Note the series (14, 20, 44, 94…) and the sensor or selector range, then call the branch.

How do I order?

There's no online ordering and no prices on the site. Call or visit the counter, Monday to Friday: Laval (450) 668-2666, Saint-Laurent (514) 737-5055, Longueuil (450) 442-2666. New customer? Open a trade account.
